Boeing C-135B Stratolifter (61-2666)
September 5th marked the final flight of this unique 61 year old NC-135W testbed and the final flight of a TF-33-equipped USAF C-135. She'll now spend the rest of her days in the Arizona boneyard.

This photo reminds me of the RC-135M which was one of the predated models of this aircraft. It didn't have all of the upgrades this one had. It was upgraded to become a W model later, probably for the TF-33 equipment. I flew onboard the 135M during the Viet war, and a model of the 130 that no longer exists also. It was interesting work, and some long flights but worth it in the end.
That Half Moon makes this a most impressive shot !!
Well done.
Well done.

This lady should go to the USAF museum at Wright-Patterson.
Yes Fritz, I agree. This beautiful machine needs to be on display as another example of how the people of America can and will be the leaders in the world of Aviation technology.
I was AC/IP on this particular aircraft while with the 55th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron at McClellan AFB (KMCC) in Sacramento (1985-1991). Seems like a lifetime ago. We used to call this one "The Antichrist" for somewhat obvious reasons, although she was as gentle as any of the others...61-2665, 61-2667, 61-2670, 61-2672, 61,2673, and 61-2674. Fun times and great memories.
Using the moon for scale, I'd estimate 2300 feet altitude.
"2300 feet altitude"? Maybe, but GVT is real close to 500ASL. So guess a grand AGL, maybe+, but I'd. be comfortable with approaching 2300...
