Remember seeing DC-10s at the Airport, Beautiful, and a nice coluor scheme for Air Afrique.

I flew on Air Afrique from LaGuardia to Lagos back in September 1981. It was a DC-10 like this all of the why until we landed in Abidjan where we switched to a 707. The DC-10 was good and the service was good because Air France and UTA were still involved with them at that time. But the 707 from Abidjan to Lagos was a cattle car! I was in the Ivory Coast back in 2000 and the corruption and lack of maintenance was apparent. There was a lot of broken equipment from Air Afrique sitting in the airport at Abidjan.
