Looking at this, my mind is back in 1974 stood on the spectator terraces at EGCC Manchester, UK. Binoculars in one hand, a soggy ham sandwich in the other. One of a horde of school boys (who probably should have been in school at the time!). Dreaming that one day they might get on one of these and fly off to 'Sunny Spain' for their holidays......

Thanks Dan, brings back loads of memories flying in SAA's B727-100C, 44 version (ZS-SBI) in the 1970's.

One of the best looking airliners ever made! To see a B-727 fly overhead was poetry in motion.

Three years of my life spent oiling on -100's and -200's, and about halfway through the F/O upgrade syllabus when furloughs caught up to me.
Hearing a Tri-motor fly over was anything but poetry.
