Boeing CH-47 Chinook (00-0287)
United States Army CH-47 Chinook 0-00287 (previously 92-00287). Arrived about 90 minutes before the start of the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Fernley, Lyon County, Nevada. The ceremony concluded 15 minutes ago.
"In remembrance of all Nevada's military heroes and of all military heroes from throughout the US and the world who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of safety and freedom for their fellow citizens."

After taking this photo, I approached a reporter for the RGJ daily newspaper and showed him this shot. I pointed out where I had positioned and suggested it may be a fine photo to take for the paper's coverage of this ceremony. A few minutes later, he approached me, presented his card, and thanked me for the suggestion. Thank you, Mr. Seth Richardson, for being present to pay respects to Nevada's military heroes.
