Two of three visiting VMFT 401 "Snipers' F-5s taxi thru triple-digit heat and on to the Stellar Aviation apron.
VMFT 401 is a non-deployable unit. The "Snipers' are the only USMC air fighter squadron that is mission-authorized to perform as adversaries in combat training exercises.
Comments
It was a rather warm environment out there. Air temp was 97 degrees. According to my handy little thermometer, the open surface of the ramp where I was standing was 111 degrees. Heat waves were rolling up from the runways and taxiways so I had to wait for these Tigers to get close in order to get clean snaps of them.
