Beechcraft 1900 (N55594)
KLAX - Sept 1989 US Air Express ( with a fake PSA smile) set to depart 25L at Los Angeles. Airline departures from 25L were very rare back in the 1980s. 25R was not being used this day so I'm sure a maintenance issue was at hand. photo from the FedEx parking lot at LAX. I had an 8ft ladder I took with me in my truck to clear the fence.

Some good historic pics again Tom. Personally, I like the stories that go with them because it's then not just a photo.
I note from this one that fences were worse than here - even back in '89 at LAX. So far at least, thankfully we can get away with about 3-4 ft elevation - not as perilous for folks like me who don't feel that comfortable on ladders!

Nice history! I remember seeing these birds here at BOS as well in the 1980's and 90's
