Touching down on runway 14R at Launceston is the Virgin Blue B737, on a promotional flight carrying Richard Branson. The aircraft had departed YMML tracked via Cowes to overhead YDPO and then went via Cradle Mountain to Launceston.
Parked in front of the terminal is a Kendell Airlines CRJ and a Southern Australia Airlines BAE-146.
Within a few weeks Ansett stopped operating along with its various subsidiaries including Kendells.
The Southern Australia BAE-146's would be replaced by Qantas's newly acquired Impulse Airlines rebadged as Qantaslink and operating B717's
