Dogfight between Congress, Air Force could delay F-35 program
Congress and Air Force officials are engaged in a virtual dogfight over the delayed retirement of the A-10 Thunderbolt II, which could in turn push back the introduction of the F-35 fighter planes. The military wants to mothball the plane, affectionately known as the "Warthog," and says it needs the maintenance crews for the new plane. (www.foxnews.com) עוד...

If push come to shove, give the A-10's to the Army and tell USAF to pound sand.
Now they are finding they need them for the ISIS crowd...the Air Force won't admit that.
Nope, but they fail to remember desert storm and the like. Close air support is still a needed function. 200 miles away and unseen is a fine thing but there are times when you got to get down and get your hands dirty. I am feeling pretty good, but still got a fair amount of soreness that is keeping me from sleeping comfortable, and I've been home about 3 weeks now. Came home with no pain medicine.
Going to LIT today for speech therapy. Have 1 paralyzed vocal chord. Start chemo Friday. 4 6 hour sessions, 3 weeks apart.
Left recurrent nerve goes down there...right side not so. Not really all that important as long as you are not aspirating liquids. Voice will be a little breathy and slightly hoarse, but the other cord will compensate over next few weeks. If not improving and/or aspirating we can medialize the cord with a little cartilage under local or inject the cord with more temporary stuff. Hope all goes well.
Voice is a little more than hoarse/breathy but no aspiration and swallow testing OK. Speech folks looking at it today and will see if they can do any good or if we'll just have to let it run it's course. I'll let you know on Email this afternoon. Appt not til 115, probably out by 2, 2 hours to the house.
