This photo was taken in the summer of 1999 after we learned that the B-1Bs would be ripped from our loving arms (116th Bomb Wing, Georgia Air National Guard) and returned to active duty. This after we demonstrated time and time again that the Guard could fly them cheaper per flying hour and maintain a higher mission capable rate then our active duty counter parts. We loved those aircraft, and it was put on displayed after every morning and afternoon launch by the symphony of car alarms set off in the parking lots. This is actually a photo of a photo that hung throughout the 116th Bomb Wing HQs and maintenance facilities. We would later learn that several of our A/C would end up in the bone yard.
