Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) have announced 2018 was another record-breaking year for O’Hare and Midway International Airports combined, with the most passengers served and highest volume of cargo tonnage handled to date. the longest taxi if any US airport... just got longer. Some short regional flights taxi longer than they're in the air from ORD

Same for some short cargo flights. Just operated CVG-ORD and even with nonethibg going on ... middle of the night ... it is a 20 min tact for a 40 min flight. Add in De-ice and it doubles/triples.

Atlanta still has huge plans to maximize their landlocked space. One more runway and two more concourses and the taxi taxi times will still be shorter than ORD.

ATL still retains the most passenger emplacements 107+ million last year). This has been a battle for decades. ORD has more annual flights but ATL moves more passengers.
