Nazi warplane lying off UK coast is intact
LONDON (Reuters) – A rare World War Two German bomber, shot down over the English Channel in 1940 and hidden for years by shifting sands at the bottom of the sea, is so well preserved a British museum wants to raise it. (news.yahoo.com) עוד...@RobSJC
because if you don't learn from history, your bound to repeat it.

You have to remember not ALL germans were Nazi's, more than you think hated what Hitler was doing, a lot surrendered just to get away from it and some even plotted to kill him because of it. (ie: Operation Valkyrie).
Why revive the "Hitler era"? What the hell is that? Americans force their actions in WW2 down the world's throat and say that their soldiers were "hero's". Even though American airmen bombed millions of innocent German men, women and children, invaded and occupied Germany for decades and forced American policy on the European people, Americans always praise those actions. Chuck Yeager said in an interview that he hoped America would win the war because if America lost, he knew he would be tried for war crimes. He admitted that he strafed civilians in the streets, people that were just trying to live. All this and "RobSJC" makes the statement, "why revive the Hitler era"? Damn hypocrite. The same "It's ok for America to murder, but wrong for anyone else", BS has gone too far. Also, more American presidents have been assasinated and/or been attacked than any other leader in the world. Guess that means American presidents are the worst criminals in history.
Rob, if you would choose to forget, then you would also forget the lessons learned during that conflict, and it would be an insult to the memory of the men, women and children who died. The fact is, a free and democratic Europe endures today as a result of that conflict.
and Jason, in the grand scheme of things, war crimes were commited on all sides, though the western allied forces adhered more closely to the Geneva convention than the others. The russians were particularly brutal and actually suffered the greatest losses of the war.
Also bear in mind the good to come from the war, advances in technology such as radar, jet engines and nuclear power were all spurred on.
This being an aviation website, we of all people should be acutely aware of the massive advances in aerospace technology which occured, least of all the V2 rocket program which formed the basis for modern rocketry and space exploration.
