Wonder why governments are having such a hard time dealing with this? Flying a model above 400' or inside controlled airspace is about the same thing as shooting/lazering at an aircraft to see if you can hit it.
Looks to be about the same to me. Laser incidents have about stopped since they cracked down. They need to here. My interest is the last line in this story: What is he talking about? "Mr McAuslan said there was an urgent need for rules to be tightened before much larger unmanned cargo planes - potentially the size of a Boeing 737 - took to the skies."
The problem is there is no registration for the user. It is nearly impossible to find out who the operator is, even if the authorities recover the aircraft. Anyone can run down to Radio Shack or Best Buy, spend $200 and get a quad copter, then fly it.
That was my point. Not many shoot at a plane because IF they get caught it's off to jail.
I notice it is in the title but when it comes to a collision or pilot distraction, it don't matter what brand the plane is.
