Submitted
Seven people were taken to hospitals after severe turbulence forced their flight to be diverted to Washington Dulles International Airport on Wednesday night, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) officials said. Lufthansa flight 469, en route to Frankfurt, Germany, from Austin, Texas, landed safely at Dulles at around 9:10 p.m. after encountering turbulence at 37,000 feet over Tennessee, the FAA said. people are told to keep seat belts fastened, although not many listen as sometimes even the cockpit crew is taken by surprise..if a flight attendant was injured, obviously the turbulance came very unexpectedly..its good news not more were injured, and the sudden drop is like being on a rollercoaster and not having the bar hold you down as it plunges! by the way, the actor matthew mcconaugahay and his wife were on board, and she was interviewed about it and showed some cell phone footage of what the interior looked like..not fun!
