Airline operators to face route planning restrictions due to ETOPS downgrade for the 787-9

Operators also need to be prepared for route planning restrictions. (airlinerwatch.com) עוד...What is it with 21st Century manufacturing? Has QC been completely eliminated? Just thinking of the cars & trucks we drive sure makes me wonder ...
As an inspector (pressure equipment and structural and some aviation type), you would be surprised how often companies and foreman say things are ready for QA inspection when there hasn't even been any QC inspection. They want stuff signed off in 30 minutes when nothing is ready.
This could be the death of the T-1000.
Initially, Boeing wasn’t diverting engines from the production lines to airlines with aircraft on the ground (AOG), airlines complained to LNC. One airline contrasted Boeing’s action to Airbus, which directed Pratt & Whitney to divert new production Geared Turbo Fan engines to customers with AOG instead of to the production lines. A320neos litter the Toulouse (and probably Hamburg) airport with engineless A320neos.
