Robo-737 pilot Is here!
Aurora Flight Sciences, now Boeing, is working on a robot that can fly an airplane. The Robotic Copilot is a concept development program to insert new automation into existing multi-crew aircraft to enable operations with reduced onboard crew. The objective of the program is to create a portable and extensible hardware and software toolbox introducing of new levels of automation across a wide variety of military and civilian aircraft that ultimately reduce crew requirements. The robo-automobile made by Tesla has already killed one of their customers. If you take humans out of the safety parameters you will always have a glitch an automated system cannot solve, ie; 404 Error. Humans are essential for flight safety not computers. Automation is necessary but it has extremely low limits with machines with close to 3 million parts and thousands of parts moving in harmony.
