"Sully" - Shall you go see it? I just did and here is my take on it

Hopefully, Captain "Sully" and the First Officer are making some money off this.

I suspect both of these guys are a bit embarssed at how modern journalism is making a big deal out of this - willing to bet if we met these guys personally, they'd emphasize they are just regular guys doing the job they were paid to do.

From what I have heard, the "journalist types" correctly recognized the real story wasn't wild enough for them to make a buck out of it - so they doctored it up with a fabricated story about FAA/NTSB investigations.

I happen to know just a wee bit about that - participating in proceedings on behalf of other airmen down thru the years, and in three separate occasions, they came after me.

Yes, it is true that at the trial level, in some cases the Administrative Law Judges, and even the FAA attorneys, are clue-less about aviation and could care less - they just want to move the cases along.

But on the "operations" level. WITHOUT FAIL I have found these folks dedicated, almost invariably airmen themselves, who simply want to help make us and the system safer.

A "little bird whispered in my ear" that the portion of the story-line that suggests at the operations level, these guys went after that flight crew.....IS UTTER NONSENSE !

Will this movie work well for the "gee whiz...oh my gosh" types...? Hard to say...their tastes are different than the people I hang out with....!
