Sad when a team is in a crash I do hope that there was no loss of life.
The plane, RA-42433, had been banned from service in Europe in 2009 because of safety issues. See

Demitra was one of the best Blues! There was an huge amount of talent on board among all of the players.
As small as a Yak is, and carrying a hockey team and all of it's equipment? It had to be overloaded.

KauaiGolfer, that was the larger Yak-42 which is a trijet. It is large enough for a team and equip. Fingers are pointing to a possible fire on takeoff.
this should be lesson for all - never have all of your team mates fly in the same plane, it happened in Smolensk last year and now this - RIP to all
