UPS pilots ratify 2-year contract extension
UPS pilots get more years and benefits under new deal. (www.freightwaves.com) More...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
They have come a long way since I was hired in January of 1988. Back then we were in the same Teamster local as the truck drivers. UPS can be a tough company to work for but by the time I retired, it was the best job in the industry thanks to four fellows that started the Independent Pilots Association. If a young pilot asks me to recommend an airline to send a resume to, UPS is always at the top of my list. They just recently started a class of 40 new hires.
Pilots these days are overworked and I believe underpaid. Kudos to UPS for signing off on this deal. Keep ‘em flying.
I believe you are only underpaid if in fact you ste getting paid less than what you agreed too.
I followed 2 links to a disgruntled Atlas article where they were not happy with a 30% pay rise and furthermore complained of a lack of job certainty!
I am sorry, but I am unable to empathize! We were so excited after 2 years of nil to get a 3%

Moreover, now Atlas's success is tied too much to Amazon.
Amazon Prime Air. Operated by Giant……
Haha, I got 4% this year plus a nice longevity package after more than 8 years. Every year! And, I no longer work as a pilot. That got real old after 4 airlines, multiple furloughs and having to start at the bottom each and every time!
Not everyone lucks out. At least I had a backup plan and it really worked out for me……did I mention I also get two pensions when I retire next year? Which airline, even legacy will guarantee that for you? I think we all know the answer to that question.
