Flying With Celebrities

Without getting specific, I encountered my share of celebrities on my flights. The most memorable, however, was when I picked up a regularly scheduled early morning trip to the West Coast. I signed in in ops to find that my flight plan was locked out, meaning that the Dispatcher REALLY wants to speak to me before I proceed further.

Turns out that I was flying the First Lady of a prominent country and her entourage would take up most of first class on my 767. Long story short, I was briefed three times before I could settle into the left seat. The Dispatcher, the Gate Agent and finally from the foreign security detail. My F/O was waiting for me and had already been 'vetted'.

Three hours later, I chickened out and did an autoland!
