As in past years, this year Qantas will also operate flights to Antartica. Total flight is about 12 hours with about 4 hours spent over the icy continent. Those flights tend to sell out.
I can think of better things to do with my $787, but if that's what makes them happy, more power to them.
What's the appeal? I don't get it.

What Roger said; to enjoy the flight, if one loves flying, without having to worry about customs and all the other hustles regular air travel can present.
