North American P-51D Mustang ‘KH774 GA-S’ (G-SHWN)

Beautiful.
Two questions…. Is this a legit paint scheme from a unit in WWII? And, with the British emblem, why the yellow outside rim on some, and not on others? Thanks
knifeedge
The RAF would have called it a Mustang IV. Markings are 112 Squadron who were the first to put the shark mouth on their Tomahawks and Kittyhawks (P40s) in North Africa. That inspired the AVG (Flying Tigers) to do the same in China.
Very cool paint job on a Mustang!

Charles Baker, the yellow ring was used on camouflaged surfaces to make the roundel more visible. It's all documented here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Air_Force_roundels
