Wright Cyclone engines of 1100hp. Most DC-3's had the Pratt and Whitney engines producing 1200hp. This may have been a pre WW2 built airframe...maybe VH-ABR? I never flew the DC-3, but as a very junior First Officer in Ansett in the 1980's on the F27, I flew with plenty of very senior Captains who had flown thousands of hours in them!
