Not a Messerschmitt Bf-109. It is a Hispano HA-1112-M1L Buchon - a licensed version built in Spain in 1958 with a Rolls-Royce Merlin 500 engine (because the Daimler-Benz 601 engines were no longer available).

@Mark Thank you for your remark. I put exact type of this aircraft in the comment. Unfortunately, Flightaware uses only ICAO type designators for specification of aircraft type, and "ME09" code is common for all Bf-109 and Me-109 versions produced both by Messerschmitt and Hispano, and Flightaware uses the name "MESSERSCHMITT Bf-109" for "ME09" ICAO type designator...
from my humble point of vision I want to remark that the display of a swastika is not necessary in our days and authenticity is definitely not impaired by not displaying it.

I think that the symbol on this aircraft is a version of the Iron Cross, not to be confused with a swastika. However, even if it were a swastika, I would like to believe that showing an authentic symbol on an authentic aircraft is not to be confused with neo-nazis and fringe lunatic groups. One of the members of a flying club I belonged to was a German fighter pilot in WW2. He owned a Me 108 with these markings. And he was a fine gentleman.

Hey Rick D, what's that on the tail, a happy face?

History is History, you do NOT remove it by painting it out or pulling down statues, all you do is remove the information, that eventually leads to things like (No such thing as the Holocaust)
What I think, is that these images should have a meaning for generations to come, without these reminders, History fades, so they will make the same mistakes again. Like a short history tacked on somewhere
