Looks like a not-uncommon problem of some sort appeared (perhaps work-overload or something), but all the safety measures in effect prevented anything truly serious from happening. The enhanced ground proximity warning system worked properly and the pilots properly responded to ditch everything else and climb to work out the bugs in their approach. Good stuff.
